You may have noticed that many of my pictures are taken at this dramatic angle. I am prepared to forgive you for thinking that I am just trying to be arty-farty. Indeed, in some cases you would be right. However, it is extremely difficult to get a shot of any subject in Japan without it being spoilt by over head cables, high-rise buildings or other imposing structures. See below.

It would have been nice to have been able to tell you that these images were the result of an exciting scuba diving expidition. However, the following images will reveal that this is not the case. Nevertheless, it was all the same an awsome experience as I hope the pictures below manage to capture.

Alcohol vending machine

I searched high and low for one of these. When I first came to Japan these things were everywhere - yes, vending machines in the street selling booze! Beer, wine, whiskey. In those days it was easy enough for kids to get their hands on the stuff (however, they did shut most of them off after 11pm!! Not sure how that helped.) Today, both cigerette and alcohol vending machines require you to swipe an id card before allowing access.
